Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish model and actress. She was born on 11th November, 1966. Her feature film debut was a tiny part on the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). In the following film she was portrayed as a Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan Donavan played the role in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987. Charlotte played Taffin (in 1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody was approached by a photographer who asked her to take on the role of model. Doody then began to build a career of commercial modelling. Doody was determined to steer clear of glamorous and sexy roles, that was a rule she incorporated into her acting. When she was spotted by the casting director for the upcoming James Bond movie, she participated in A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody appeared as a character in John Willis Screen World Volume 2. The Storyteller episode from 1988 was her first appearance in the main role in the film Sapsorrow, alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took possibly her most famous role to date in the role of Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody was in the British miniseries Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The show was inspired by the Hitler Diaries publication scam. She then moved to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal She went on to appear alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery the agent's girlfriend. After nearly a decade from screen Doody came back to acting, and acted in a tiny role in 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine acting as herself in an award ceremony scene. In 2004, she appeared alongside Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She was also as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 pamphlet on the Holocaust. Doody filming a character in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. She guested in RTE's medical drama The Clinic. The project was later canceled. Pam Jefferson, the character that she played in the comedy series E4's Beaver Falls during its first season of two years. She also appeared on the show in 2014 as We Still Kill the Old Way.
